The great scale mystery
As I had mentioned, I was a little bummed about the lack of scale movement I’d seen for a couple of weeks. But such is life, and I knew I hadn’t been as dedicated as I could be, so fine… But it seemed kind of weird, because I feel like I looked better — obviously not major changes, but a little smaller, a little more toned. And I was convincing myself that maybe I was building some muscle and balancing out the fat loss, etc.
Well, last night after my shower, I actually tripped over my scale, so I just hopped on it to see… 207!?!? No freaking way! I ate GREAT yesterday, and I started my weights workout (thanks again for the advice, Nancy!), and I just couldn’t fathom that I had somehow gained 3 pounds over the course of the day, water weight or not!
So I stepped off the scale, let it re-zero, stepped back on… 203. WHAT?! So my scale is spazzing out. I’m hoping that it’s low batteries (it’s a lithium battery digital scale) and a battery replacement will make it more consistent. But GRR! I would like at least a semi-accurate way to measure my progress!
Anyway, in other news, I start my summer grad school class tonight, so my month is about to officially become crazy. Here’s my fingers crossed that I can keep it all — work, school, relationships, health — together!
my scale is like that too! & it’s a nice digital one!
I am sure it’s batteries. It sucks not to be able to get a consistent reading! But I am glad to hear that you are starting to see the improvements in you appearance. They are real. It’s amazing when the commitment to a healthy lifestyle starts showing…
